Lights Before Christmas

Last night, Will, Sawyer, and I, along with the Prices went to see the Lights Before Christmas at the Riverbanks Zoo. We had a wonderful time walking around, looking at all of the pretty lights. Sawyer also got to ride the train and sit on Santa's lap! What fun memories! We will have to make this an annual Christmas tradition.

Christmas Card 2012

I ordered our Christmas cards from Shutterfly this year. I got a great deals on the cards: 50%, free shipping, and I had a $20 off coupon code. They have a great selection of designs to chose from, and the cards are great quality.

Merry Christmas from the Tevepaugh Family!
I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday season filled with love and cheer! We have a busy couple of weeks ahead--full of Christmas fun and festivities!
Thursday night: Our annual Christmas gathering and gift exchange with our church Connections group. Looking forward to friends, fellowship, and gag gifts galore!
This weekend: I have a baby shower to attend for a friend who is expecting a precious baby boy in February. Our church friends are hosting a get together at their home on Saturday evening to view Christmas lights at their across-the-street neighbor's house. We are going to put Sawyer in some cute Christmas jammies and head over there for a bit before dropping him at home with Will's parents. We are going to an engagement party/oyster roast for dear friends of ours who are getting married in March. On Sunday night, we are going to the Riverbanks Zoo to see the Lights Before Christmas. Sawyer loves the lights on our Christmas tree, so I am sure he will have a great time looking at the all over the zoo!
Next week: On Monday, I have my work Christmas lunch. We are going to Grecian Gardens for a great meal and ornament exchange. I really like this fun tradition. It is nice to get out of the office and spend time with co-workers.
Christmas week: On Sunday, the 23rd, we are getting together with Will's family and the Varn family to have a little Christmas time with them. Kole Varn is the adorable little boy who spends his days with Will's mom and Sawyer. They are great family friends! Christmas Eve, we go out to my dad's in Camden to eat lunch and exchange presents. We will spend a good part of the day with them before heading back to town for church. We haven't officially decided, but I think we will be going to church with Will's family this year. After church, we head over to dear family friends of my family. They host a drop-in on Christmas Eve every year. We truly enjoy spending this special time with them, and exchanging gifts. Christmas morning, we will be up bright and early! I am so looking forward to spending this time with Sawyer on his first Christmas! I know he is too young to truly understand the meaning on Christmas, but I enjoys it non-the-less! After having our little family Christmas, we will head over to my mom's house to have our time with them. We will have breakfast and open gifts. Then, off we go to Will's parent's house to do the same thing with them!! We will head up to Chapin to the lake to have Christmas lunch with Will's aunt, uncle, cousins, and grandparents. We will spend the rest of the afternoon there, before heading home to crash from exhaustion. We will be up and at 'em early the next morning to head to Greenville to spend the day with my mom's family and celebrate with them. In previous years, we have gone up there on Christmas afternoon and spent the night, but we thought that was too much to do in one day now that we have Sawyer to cart around. I'm glad that we will still get a chance to see everyone in Greenville though. Wow...what a busy time of year!!! I'm glad I will have the rest of the week off from work to recover! I don't have to go back to work until January 2nd. Oh, I left out the part about is going to Edisto! We are going on Friday after Christmas and staying until Monday, New Year's Eve! We don't currently have plans to celebrate, but we are thinking of having a small, low-key get together at our house. Doesn't that just make you tired from just reading what all we have planned...not sure we know we are getting ourselves into, especially now that we have Sawyer! I'm sure everything will be wonderful! I am definitely looking forward to spending time with friends and family, and making precious memories!

The Christmas Season is Upon Us

We are in full Christmas mode at our house! We went and had Sawyer's 6 month/Christmas pictures taken at Picture People this weekend. He did wonderful! No fussing or whining! The photographer was great with him, and even managed to get a few smiles. We also went and picked out our Christmas tree. We had it all up and decorated by Sunday afternoon. Sawyer and I were still feeling kind of yucky all weekend. We both have been fighting a cough. My mom actually took him back to the doctor this morning. His chest and ears looked fine. Dr. B. thinks the cough is due to drainage. We are going to try giving him baby Zyrtec for a few days to see if that helps. We definitely don't want to be sick for Christmas!! We will be going back to the pediatrician on Friday for a follow-up and his 6 month well visit...hopefully he will be well by then!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

This past weekend kicked off the holiday season for our family! Friday night, we decked Sawyer out in his cutest Christmas jammies and went to the Junior League of Columbia's Holiday Market PJ's with Santa event. We had a blast! We walked around the market and did a little shopping. Sawyer got to sit with Santa and have his picture taken. This Santa was very authentic with a real beard, which Sawyer promptly pulled on! The poor man had to keep his hand down to keep him from pulling on it. After seeing Santa, Will, Mom, Lindsay, Sawyer, and I went to have dinner at Henry's. What a wonderful way to kick off the holidays!

On Sunday night, we went to the Cayce-West Columbia Christmas Parade with Will's family. We started off the afternoon at the home of family friends. They had some Christmas cookies and snacks for us to enjoy. We walked up the street to stake out a spot to watch the parade. Sawyer was thoroughly mesmerized by the lights and music on the floats. I thought he would be fussy and tired because of the time of day the parade. He stayed awake and watched the entire event. What a fun night with Will's family!

This weekend, the fun continues! We are taking Sawyer to the Picture People to get his six month pictures taken. I plan on him wearing two different outfits: a Christmas one and a regular one to vary the shots a bit. We are going in the morning, so hopefully he will be in a good mood. We are also going to get our Christmas tree and decorate our house this weekend. Mr. Will Griswold is a little unhappy because he can't go crazy this year decorating. Our house is still on the market and we don't want to detract buyers! Our house will be beautifully, tastefully decorated to celebrate the spirit of the season! One other thing we want to do before Christmas is to go to the Lights Before Christmas at the Riverbanks Zoo. I know Sawyer would love seeing all of the lights. We are trying to get a group of friends together to make the trip.

Thanksgiving 2012

Will, Sawyer, and I, along with Will's parents, went down to Jacksonville, FL for Thanksgiving. We went to visit his grandparents and uncle Tim. We both worked a half day on Wednesday, then loaded up the car in preparation for the 5ish hour drive. We left at 1:30 and got down there about 6:30. We stopped only once and made good time. Sawyer slept well in the car, and only fussed the last 15 minutes.

We had a great visit with Will's grandparents. It is nice to spend time with them. We will see them again when they come up here for Christmas. We left Saturday morning about 9:30. The drive back was not as easy as the drive down. We stopped at the outlets in Darien, GA and did a little shopping and had lunch. Sawyer slept about an hour and a half the whole drive, mostly in the morning. We ended up stopping a couple of extra times to let him get out of his car seat because he was so fussy. I think he was just tired of being strapped in his seat. We didn't get home until about 5:30, so it was a long day in the car. We went over to our friends' house to watch the Clemson v. Carolina game. Sawyer did well and went to sleep in their pack n' play. I think he was pretty exhausted! All in all, it was a wonderful holiday and break from work. Back to the grind today! I am looking forward to Christmas and spending extra time with my boys! I have to work until December 21st, but don't have to go back until January 2nd! Can't wait for that special time of year!

Sawyer's First Tailgate

Saturday, Will and I took Sawyer to Cock's Corner for his first tailgating experience. My parent's were hosting a tailgate for the Carolina vs. Wofford game. My step-dad went to Wofford and he had some friends in town for the game. With it being a 1:00 game, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to take Sawyer. The weather was nice and sunny, a tad chilly, but not too bad. Sawyer was perfect! He smiled at all of the ladies and was as sweet as can be!

Hope ya'll have a happy Thanksgiving! We are heading down to Florida Wednesday afternoon until Saturday. We will be home in time for the big game...Carolina vs. Clemson!!

Sawyer's Baptism Weekend

We celebrated Sawyer's baptism on Sunday, which was All Saints' Day. We started the weekend off with a quiet night at home on Friday. Will was still recovering from his knee injury from Thursday afternoon. *He tripped on Scotch's dog bone...we ended up at Medcare for a couple of hours and an x-ray...thankfully just bruised. Sawyer was also not feeling well or acting like his normal sweet self. I ended up taking him to the pediatrician Saturday morning before his baptism rehearsal to get his ears checked. It turns out that he just has a cold and no ear infection. We went to the church for the baptism rehearsal, so we would know how the service would go and what we needed to do. At lunchtime, we went to Will's masonic lodge for the chicken fundraiser. Saturday night, my parents had us all over for dinner because we had family in town. Both of my sisters were there, as well as, my aunt Fielding and uncle Gally, my aunt Camille, and of course the three of us and my parents. We ordered pizza and had a yummy salad. We spent time on my parent's newly renovated patio with a fireplace.

Sunday was the big day! It was also the start of Daylight Savings Time. Both Scotch and Sawyer had no clue they were suppose to sleep an extra hour! We were all up at 5:45 am! We fed Sawyer and luckily he went back to sleep. We had a good while before having to get ready for church. We took Sawyer to church in his pjs and got him dressed there so his gown wouldn't get wrinkled. We took a few family photos before church to commemorate the occasion.

Halloween Festivities 2012

Last week/weekend, we attended several Halloween festivities. Sawyer and I started off by going to Boo at the Zoo on Thursday night. We went with some of Will's Newberry friends and their kiddos. We had a blast! Sawyer took in all of the sights and sounds. He was mesmerized!

Trick or Treat

Friday night, Will and I went to an Engagement Party for some dear friends. We had a nice night without the little one. Will's parents came to our house and babysat Sawyer.

Saturday, we hung out at home and watched football. That night, Sawyer and I went to go carve pumpkins at our annual girls night pumpkin carving at a friend's house. The guys all got together and hung out as well.
Sunday, the Halloween activities kicked into high gear. Our first stop was our church's Trunk or Treat. The youth group and advisors parked cars and decorated their trunks, had games, and passed out candy.

Our second stop was Trunk or Treat at Will's parent's church. They also had decorated cars and candy!

Me, Sawyer, and Aunt Katy
Our final stop of the evening was to our church group's kids Halloween party/dinner. One of the couples in our Connections group invited all of the parents and kids over for a get together after Trunk or Treat.

Our little tiger was a trouper all afternoon and evening. He squeezed in cat naps between stops. He didn't want to miss any of the activities! As for actual Halloween on Wednesday, I think we are going to stick close to home and enjoy some family time.
