Sawyer's First Week:
We spent 3 nights in the hospital and went home on Sunday, the 17th. Our first night at home went fairly well. He was up every 3ish hours to nurse. He is not a fussy baby and goes right back to sleep after each feeding. We had an appointment with his pediatrician on Monday to check on his bilirubin levels because they were a little elevated on Sunday. His levels had gone down...no jaundice! However, his weight had dropped to 6 lbs 1 oz. That concerned his doctor a little because it was quite a significant weight loss. We were encouraged to call the lactation specialist and made a follow up appointment for Wednesday. On Tuesday, we met with the lactation specialist to get some nursing tips and assistance. She checked Sawyer's bilirubin levels again (they had gone down more) and weighed him. He was 6 lbs 4 oz, so he had gained some weight from Monday. His weight gain was attributed to my milk coming in. He was definitely eating better. We had our follow up appointment with the ped on Wednesday. He was comfortable with the bilirubin levels from Tuesday, so we no longer needed to be concerned about that. Sawyer's had also gained more weight- 6 lbs 7 oz. He checked out well and we made our appointment for his 2 week check up. Will was home from work all week. We spent time bonding as a family. It was a wonderful week!!

Sawyer's Second Week:
Will has gone back to work this week. We miss him terribly during the day. Sawyer and I are working on establishing some sort of routine. My mom was here with us on Monday and Tuesday. She is out of town the rest of the week until Friday. Wednesday, I had my two week check up at my doctor's office. I am healing well and was cleared to drive. Now, we won't be stuck at home during the day. I go back to the doctor in a month for my six week check up. Sawyer had his two week check up today. His weight is looking great! He weighed 7 lbs 3 oz. He is a great eater! He eats about every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours during the night. He will see his doctor in six weeks for his eight week check up. Will and I are loving our sweet boy!! He really is a good baby...not too fussy!! I can't believe it has already been two weeks since he was born. The time has flown by!

Last Doctor's Appointment

This morning, we had our last doctor's appointment before Sawyer's arrival. Everything is looking good! His heartbeat was nice and strong. I am about 3 cm dilated and 80% thinned out. We are stilled scheduled for induction on Thursday. My doctor says we are favorable and he is very low and ready to go! We are so excited and ready to meet him!! Also a little nervous and jittery about the process and the unknown. I know everything will go well for me and Sawyer; we have great doctors in our practice, and I know they will take great care of us!
Please keep us in mind on Thursday and say a little prayer for an easy and safe delivery.

38 weeks and Nursery pics

The nursery is finished!! It has been almost there for quite awhile. I have been waiting for the pillow shams and window valance to arrive. I got them this week, so last night I pretty much finished things up. Now all we need is a baby to make the room complete!!!

View from hallway door...did I mention the window valance is here, but not hung up yet (hopefully this weekend).

Close up of bed....love the polka dot pillow shams!

Close up of crib....the soft stuffed animals will be removed before he starts sleeping in there, I know it's a hazard.

I am 38 weeks today!!! One week until induction, that's if he doesn't decide to arrive on his own before then!!!

10 Days!!!!

At my doctor's appointment last week, I was dilated 2-3 centimeters. My doctor said I was favorable for induction at 39 weeks. I had my weekly appointment today and I am still around 2 centimeters. His heartbeat is good and strong, and he is measuring right around 37 weeks. We have scheduled the induction for next Thursday, June 14th! The only draw back is that my doctor will not be the doctor on call. Her call schedule makes her unavailable the whole window we were looking at for induction. I figured that was ok because if he decided/decides to come on his own, we will have whichever doctor is on call anyways. So, we will be meeting Sawyer within 10 days! I am a planner, so I like to have a date in mind. He may very well decide to come on his own before then though, which is just fine with me. I am beyond uncomfortable at times and am so ready to meet him! Stay tuned....
