Snow Day!

Last week, we experienced a rare, much anticipated snow day! Starting the weekend before, our beloved local weathermen started the conversation of snow mid-week. All day Monday, January 27th, everyone was talking about the impending #snowpacalypse. The winter weather was suppose to start moving in around lunchtime on Tuesday the 28th. Schools and businesses closed in anticipation of the day's events. My office was closed, as well. Will had to work that day, while we waited for the bad weather to set in. Well, we waited and waited and waited. It wasn't until late afternoon/evening before the sleet/freezing rain started. The change-over didn't occur until about 9:30 that night.
Waiting for the snow!

We got up early the next morning to check out the winter wonderland! I think we ended up with about 3 inches of snow.

First glimpse of snow! A little weary at first.

That afternoon, we ventured out to my parents and Will's parents to share in the snow day fun!

{Christmas 2013}

We officially kicked off the Christmas holidays with PJ's with Santa at the Junior League of Columbia's Holiday Market on December 6th. We had a nice evening of shopping, mingling, decorating cookies, and visiting with Santa (not!). Sawyer was terrified of the man in the red suit with the beard!

The next weekend, friends of ours from church had a little Christmas drop-in at their house. All of the kids had a great time playing and the adults enjoyed themselves as well. Santa also made an appearance, that was again, not very well received.
Visit #2 with Santa 2013
We also had a chance to go to the Zoo to see the Christmas lights. We went with Will's college buddies and their families.

Visit #3 with Santa 2013- finally getting used to the big guy!
Christmas Eve, we had lunch at my dad's farm, like we usually do. That evening, we went to church with my family and visited family friends afterwards.

Christmas morning was magical! Sawyer loved seeing all of his new things! We got up early and had family time with just the three of us. Next, we went to my parents to open gifts. We then went to Will's parents to open more gifts and have lunch before going to visit his sister in the hospital.
