Halloween Festivities 2012

Last week/weekend, we attended several Halloween festivities. Sawyer and I started off by going to Boo at the Zoo on Thursday night. We went with some of Will's Newberry friends and their kiddos. We had a blast! Sawyer took in all of the sights and sounds. He was mesmerized!

Friday night, Will and I went to an Engagement Party for some dear friends. We had a nice night without the little one. Will's parents came to our house and babysat Sawyer.

Saturday, we hung out at home and watched football. That night, Sawyer and I went to go carve pumpkins at our annual girls night pumpkin carving at a friend's house. The guys all got together and hung out as well.
Sunday, the Halloween activities kicked into high gear. Our first stop was our church's Trunk or Treat. The youth group and advisors parked cars and decorated their trunks, had games, and passed out candy.

Our second stop was Trunk or Treat at Will's parent's church. They also had decorated cars and candy!

Our final stop of the evening was to our church group's kids Halloween party/dinner. One of the couples in our Connections group invited all of the parents and kids over for a get together after Trunk or Treat.

Our little tiger was a trouper all afternoon and evening. He squeezed in cat naps between stops. He didn't want to miss any of the activities! As for actual Halloween on Wednesday, I think we are going to stick close to home and enjoy some family time.

Weekend Recap

This past weekend, Will and I went to Clemson for the Virginia Tech game with Will's family. We got up early and dropped Sawyer off at my mom's house. The day started off pretty chilly as we made the drive up to Clemson. We got parked and tailgated for a bit before doing a little shopping downtown before the game.

Meanwhile, back at home, Sawyer was having a ball hanging out with his Sassy and Bobo. They took a walk, watched football, gardened, napped, and played in the exersaucer for the first time!

My mom sent this picture to me while we were at the game
In other news from the weekend....we officially put our house on the market! We are praying for a quick and easy sell. It is really hard to keep a neat and tidy house 24/7 with a baby and all of his stuff.

Sawyer and I are looking forward to going to Boo at the Zoo Thursday night with some friends. This weekend, we will be going to Trunk or Treat at our church and Will's parent's church. I hope our little tiger cub does well at these fun Halloween activities!

Rice Cereal

Last night was Sawyer's first taste of rice cereal. I mixed 1 Tbsp of dry cereal and 1 Tbsp of formula. I ended up added a little extra formula to make it a little thinner (it was about 1/2 ounce of formula). At first, he didn't love it. He was unsure of what was in his mouth. Then, he couldn't get enough. He fussed when it was all gone! Looking forward to trying again tonight. The plan is to give him is afternoon bottle around 3-4pm, cereal around 6, then night time bottle around 8. We will see how it goes!

Not so sure!

Yum!

4 month well visit

We took Sawyer to Dr. B. for his 4 month well visit this afternoon. He had to get a few immunizations and the standard check-up rountine.

Stats:
14 pounds 1 ounce
24.5 inches long
16 inches head circumference

Other 4 month info:
size 2 diapers
3 month clothes (0-3 are too small, 3-6 is a little big)
7 ounce bottles 4 times a day (every 4 hours)
sleeps from around 8-9 pm until around 7 am!
naps- mostly cat naps during the day and a longer late afternoon nap (we are working on those daytime naps)

We got the go-ahead to start rice cereal once a day. We are to start off with 1 Tablespoon of cereal mixed with 1 Tablespoon of formula. We are going to try it out this weekend and see how it goes. I think he will really like it once he gets the hang of it.

He is home resting after the trama of his shots. I think they make him feel a little blah. Hopefully he will be back to his normal sweet self tomorrow.

My mom is taking him to the Little Gym for his first class tomorrow morning. The "Bugs" class will be a fun experience for them to share.

4 month old little pumpkin

Will and I took Sawyer to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. He was the cutest little pumpkin in the patch!

Saturday night we went to watch the Carolina vs. LSU game with some friends. Sawyer dressed for the occasion. According to Will, that was the only time he was ever going to wear the Gamecock outfit. I think Will only let him wear it because Clemson was not playing on Saturday, otherwise, he would have had to wear orange.
*By the way, USC lost---Will says it was Sawyer wearing the outfit that caused it!

Go Gamecocks!

Sunday was a lazy day spent at home. We went to brunch at DiPrato's, then spent the rest of the day vegging out at home. It also happened to be Sawyer's 4 month birthday! We go to the doctor tomorrow for his 4 month well visit and shots. I will update his stats later this week. Sawyer also has a new trick...he rolled over from his tummy to his back! He only did it once so far, but I'm sure it won't be long before he is rolling everywhere!

4 months old!

Best Buds!

Slacker

Obviously I have been slacking lately on the blog posts lately. I have been swamped at work. We are gearing up for our annual conference next week in Hilton Head. My mom and Sawyer will be traveling with me to the beach. That way, I can spend a little time with him when I am not working, and Will can get a little break while we are gone for a couple of days.

Let's see....I don't think I have done a recap of our long weekend in Edisto a couple of weeks back. We had a wonderful time with my family! However, Sawyer came down with his first cold. He was a trooper though. He was snotty and congested, but was in great spirits. It really didn't seem to bother him at all. He is still getting over the tail end of it this week. In fact, Will and I both ended up with it as well.

Also, while I have been away, we celebrated my birthday! On the last night at the beach, we had a special birthday dinner and cake to celebrate my birthday a few days early. Back at home on my birthday, I was feeling pretty crummy with my cold. Will brought me gatorade and Bojangles for dinner. I snuggled with my boys and had a nice evening at home. He also had his cousin make me funfetti cupcakes! He and Sawyer had been to the Mad Platter and painted me a neat container with Sawyer's hand and feet prints. I ended up going to the doctor the next day to get some meds...ends up I had a sinus infection. Lovely way to spend my birthday. Will took me out to dinner on Saturday night to Pasta Fresca. I was feeling better by then. We really enjoyed our date night without Sawyer. He stayed at my mom's house. On Sunday, we had lunch with my Dad to celebrate both of our birthdays (his is the week before mine). We had a nice lunch at Dano's, one of our favorite pizza places in town.
I think that is pretty much sums up what we have been up to the last couple of weeks. Nothing too exciting as usual!
