This and That

Will and I traveled to Beaufort this weekend for one of his college buddies' wedding. We left early Saturday morning and got to the hotel in time to check in and rest a bit. The wedding was at 1:00, so we grab a quick bite to eat before hand. After the ceremony, we had 2 hours to kill before the reception. We stopped by the grocery store so the boys could get beer before heading back to the hotel to relax a bit. Things definitely livened up once they started drinking. The reception was fun, food was good, and so was the company. Overall, it was a nice chance to get away for a night and have some fun.

In other news, I had another doctor's appointment today. We will now be going every 2 weeks. I am currently 27 weeks and 4 days pregnant, I can't believe how fast it has gone by. I had to drink the glucose drink today and wait an hour and have blood drawn. It was not as terrible as I thought it was going to be, although, I have been feeling a little yucky all day because of it. The doctor also checked on Sawyer. I am measuring just right and his heartbeat was good and strong. I love listening to that sweet sound. I enjoy these check ups- they reassure me that everything is alright. Not that he doesn't on a regular basis, he is very active. I feel movements and thumps throughout the day and often during the night. He has been responding to music, as well. Will will play music on his phone and rest it on my belly. He will often thump the phone and we can see it move. He likes southern rock and a little bit of country music. We can't wait to meet him and see what his personality is like and what kind of person he will become.

Weekend on the Coast

Will and I had a wonderful weekend on Edisto Island with dear friends and family. It was a much needed, relaxing weekend away. We spent Friday night catching up and hanging out. Saturday was very easy going. I had the best nap ever after a yummy late breakfast. We had a gourmet grilled lunch, followed by more lounging around. It was perfect! The scenery was gorgeous and the weather was nice and sunny. Saturday night we played cards and enjoyed each others company. Sunday morning, we had lingered over another wonderful breakfast then packed up to head home. Beach weekends are never long enough!

Yesterday's Check-up

Yesterday, Will and I went in for a check-up at the doctor's office. They had me go in for an extra ultrasound because my placenta was borderline low. They saw this on my last ultrasound in January and they wanted to see if it had moved to where it should be....it did! So, no worries there. Bonus...we got to see our sweet boy! He is doing well and measuring a little ahead. I am 24 weeks and 5 days today and he was measuring 25 weeks and a couple of days. He weighs about 1 lb 13 oz. His heartbeat was good and strong (158 bpm). We were very pleased with the visit. I also got permission to take something stronger than Tums for the wicked heartburn I have been experiencing. I can take Zantac once a day. I have been waking up in terrible pain at night because of the heartburn...last night it didn't bother me at all! I go back to the doctor in 3 weeks for my glucose test for gestational diabetes. Hopefully I will pass with flying colors. I currently have no symptoms at all, and very little, if any swelling.
Tomorrow after work, I am heading over to the Palmetto Kids Consignment sale. I have pre-registered as a New Mom, so I get to shop early. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of steals and deals I can find for Sawyer, perhaps some clothes and toys! I'm not going to go overboard, because I know we will be getting lots of goodies at our showers. However, I can't pass up a good deal!
Hope ya'll have a good week! Looking forward to our trip to Edisto this weekend!!!!
